Host/Support An Event

​We are only able to support poets and run our events through the kindness of our volunteers, helpers and producers. If you would like to help host or support and event we'd love to hear from you.

If you would like to host or support an event we are always looking for volunteers and helpers to join our communities around Aotearoa. Some common roles within our community that we are always on the lookout for are:

  • ‍Front of house - Taking tickets, saying hi to people
  • ‍MC or Host of slams - Too many of our poets want to take part in our events, we're on the lookout for those special people interested in being the guide
  • ‍DJ or Musicians - Add to the fun of our events
  • ‍Timekeepers - Make sure our poets stay under 3 minutes!
  • ‍Movers and shakers - Maybe you know local venues, are connected to a business that might want to help out, or want to see more poetry in your area, you can make it happen and we can help!
  • ‍Producers - We're always looking for people keen to learn the ropes of being an artistic producer
